The artist, in abstract informal painting, shows the unique ability of uniting technical aspects to a distinctive sensitivity in terms of colours, this makes it possible to communicate themes, feelings and emotions to people and audiences from all countries around the world.

Currently Emanuela Franchin, while creating her works, chooses almost exclusively square formats, a symbolic space of her devoted research for an informal abstract, where she explores the soul and narrates emotions, amplified through a rich colour range inspired by precious stones’ brightness and colours.

Her story

Both Emanuela Franchin’s home and studio are located in Riviera del Brenta, near Venice.

She trained attending Maurizio Piovan’s painting and sculpture courses, and then, from 2009 to 2012, she specialized in stratigraphic palette knife technique with artist Mario Salvo in Rome.

Her artistic career began in 2002 with minimalist figurative works inspired by the natural world, large flower petals portrayed with a mixed-media technique that resulted in intense and poetic sensitivity. In 2004 and 2005, Emanuela held her first solo exhibitions, also, one of her paintings became part of the Public Collection of Cultural Heritage of Monselice (Padova).

The palette knife technique opened up new possibilities for the artist; starting with representations of still-life and landscapes marked by an expressionist style overflowing with intense and vital colours, she reaches an informal painting approached with enthusiasm, spreading out the colour, moulding and shaping it, removing, adding, and engraving the material, seeking the soul’s landscapes.

In 2010, upon the invitation of Giulia Sillato, she joined “Metaformismo©”, becoming a member of this artistic movement. During the following years she participated in many exhibitions throughout Italy that were held in prestigious locations, including: Palazzo Ducale in Urbino, Chiostro Bramante in Rome, Mu.MA. Galata of Genoa, Palazzo dei Giureconsulti for EXPO 2015 Milan, Palazzo Zenobio in Venice, Palazzo Ducale in Massa, Vittoriano Complex Ala Brasini for Triennale of Visual Arts in Rome, Villa Magnisi in Palermo, Govone Royal Castle that is a Savoy residence and UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Great harmony and tranquillity spread into all of her pieces, artworks that reveal what the artist calls “emotional vibrations”. Occasionally the paint seems nearly tangible substance, sometimes it is in clear contrast, shadings are the result of a “tonal system”: the colour gathers the Venetian painting’s heritage and reinvents it with the use of stratified layers and veils that, depending on the light, become infinite shades. The shapes, visually powerful and simultaneously evanescent, emerge in her paintings through a great technical capacity, they seem to be able to alter themselves and then vanish in an instant, just like life slipping away, silent palpitations. A journey that the viewer himself can go on; through substance and chromatic transparencies, the observer can step into the canvas, into history, to interpret and revisit life influenced by colour, until he figures out the code of the soul.

Emanuela’s expertise has been acknowledged by galleries and publishing companies that appreciate the authenticity and uniqueness of her art marked by extraordinary workmanship and incredible poetic sensitivity, a result of the artist’s relentless desire to express herself.
